Why Raatrani?

Raatrani - Cestrum nocturnum - is one of India's most beloved night-blooming flowers. It flowers only after sunset, releasing its fragrance in waves through the night air. For generations it has been planted outside bedroom windows, in courtyards, along night walks. The scent is deeply familiar to anyone who grew up in India not because you sought it out, but because it found you first.

Care instructions

The first burn matters most. Let the wax pool reach the edges of the vessel before you extinguish it. This prevents tunnelling and protects every hour of fragrance.

• Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn
• Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a stretch
• Keep away from drafts, direct sunlight, children, and pets
• Always place on a heat-resistant surface
• Stop burning when 1cm of wax remains
